Gun found during Youngstown bar fight
YOUNGSTOWN — A Newton Falls woman is expected to be arraigned later today in municipal court on a carrying concealed weapons charge after reports said she was holding a gun for a man who was in a fight early Sunday in a 110 W. Federal St. bar.
An officer working security downtown was called about 12:50 a.m. Sunday to The Federal for a fight inside. While he was inside, several patrons said one of the combatants had a gun and pointed it at the man with whom he was fighting.
The officer found the man who had no gun, but someone told police he put the gun in the pants of a woman he was with, Callie Ginter, 22.
When police went to look for Ginter, the man slipped away, reports said. Officers found Ginter and she admitted she had a gun in her pants. Police found the gun, a 9mm, with a round in the chamber, reports said.
Ginter was taken to the Mahoning County jail. Police are looking for the man who is suspected of having the gun.
