Join experienced outdoorsman Mark Smith at the Nature Trail in Waterworth Memorial Park at 6:30 p.m. Monday to learn the Leave No Trace principles for respecting outdoor life and land. By learning and practicing these principles, a healthier ecosystem can be preserved for future generations. To participate in the program, meet at the trailhead of the park’s nature trail located on Sunset Boulevard near the entrance to Salem Community Center’s parking lot. Watch for the sign near trailhead. The program is open to the public, family-friendly and free to attend. Library will offer job seeking program

Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St., will host a “Nail that Interview” class at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, in the Quaker room. The program is part of the technology classes the library offers to assist job seekers improve job search skills. Stephanie Peterson will discuss ways to sharpen interview skills and feel more confident. Seating is limited and registration is required. Register online at www.salem.lib.oh.us or call 330-332-0042. Science of Brewing event planned

OH WOW! The Roger and Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science and Technology, 11 W. Federal St., will host Science of Brewing: A Wine, Beer and Spirits Tasting Event from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 9. This adults-only event will include raffles, a silent auction, MAKE! workshops, food pairings, tastings by regional brewers, vinters and distillers and live music by Howard and the Point 5 Band. Tickets are $60 per person or a six pack for $300. An after party will be held from 9 to 11 p.m. at Whistle & Keg, from which 10 percent of all sales will be donated back to OH WOW!
