Austintown Night Out event to be Aug. 6

Austintown Night Out will take place on Aug. 6 from 5-9 p.m. at Austintown Township Park.

The Austintown Police Department Canine Unit and Drone Unit will be joining the event. Everyone can explore the police, fire and ambulance vehicles that will be on display.

Home Depot will again have their Kids Wooden Craft kits.

The Rust Belt Theater’s “Fairy Friends” will be visiting with Goodie Bags for the kids. Their special fairy, “Glenda the Healing Fairy Godmother,” will have her therapy dog, “Khaos The Spreader of Love.” She will explain how the therapy dog program works.

The Mahoning County Green Teams’ Peg Flynn will have crafts children can make from recycled items. Residents can get recycling info and sign up for recycling.

There will be music all evening by DJ Jmans Ultimate Sounds, with the band Vegas playing from 7-9 p.m.

A bounce house and a face painter will be on hand all night.

Food concessions by Molnars and The Ice Box “Ice Cream Truck” will be available all evening as well.

The night out event will also be having a free giveaway of a RING Video Doorbell system, courtesy of one of their Corporate Sponsors RING. Another sponsor, AT&T will be on hand to explain their special first responder calling system, FIRSTNET. They will also have some giveaways and go over their special veteran’s discounts.

Sports Clips will be raffling off a gift certificate, as well has doing some fun free temporary hair coloring.

The event is free and open to everyone.
