Weather wipes out YSU-Oakland series

ROCHESTER, MICH.

Due to heavy rainfall that resulted in unplayable field conditions, the Youngstown State baseball team’s three-game Horizon League series at Oakland scheduled for this weekend has been canceled.

Inclement weather forecasts for the remainder of the weekend coupled with an unsuccessful search for alternative venues in the surrounding areas caused the cancelation. The games will not be rescheduled.

The Penguins will return to the diamond on Wednesday to host Eastern Michigan for a midweek non-conference contest. First pitch at Eastwood Field is scheduled for 1 p.m.

There will be a YSU Baseball Team Photo Giveaway and it will be Military Appreciation Day as veterans may receive up to four complimentary tickets with a valid military ID.
