Ross softball jamboree moved to LaBrae High

The 2019 Toni Ross Spirit Foundation Varsity Softball Jamboree will be staged today at LaBrae High School. The schedule has: LaBrae vs. Howland, 9 a.m.; Erie McDowell vs. LaBrae, 10:30 a.m.; West Branch vs. Erie McDowell, noon; Jefferson vs. West Branch, 1:30 p.m.; Shaler vs. Jefferson, 3 p.m.; and Howland vs. Shaler, 4:30 p.m.

Emily Holland (8-2) pitched a four-hitter and struck out three as the Irish (16-2) ended the Myrtle Beach Grand Strand Tournament with a 5-0 record. Julia Nutter’s four hits included a triple and two doubles as she drove in five runs. Maris Barbato’s two hits included a triple and she scored three runs. Emma Ericson had two hits.

C. Beayon tossed a six-hitter, striking out three and walking one. For the Raiders, Jillian Strecansky’s two hits included a RBI double that scored Bree Kohler. Julie Centofanti also had two hits.

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.

Kohler (11-2) tossed a two-hitter, striking out 12 and walking one. She homered and tripled to drive in three runs and she scored twice. Also for the Raiders (15-5). Hanna Dennison had two hits and two runs scored, while Kali Dudich contributed two hits a run scored and a RBI.

Niles 11, Marquette (Wis.) 10

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.

Brandon Hayes had two hits, including a triple and three RBIs to lead Niles. Corbin Foy also drove in three runs for the Red Dragons. Nick Guarnieri added two RBI. Marquette was led by Dylan Hunt and Tim Gueldner with two RBI each.

Nick Guarnieri and Joe Gallo had three hits each for Niles. Both drove in two runs. Joe Corson also had three hits for the Red Dragons. Corbin Foy pitched six innings and struck out six. Craven was led by Shade Bland with three hits and two RBIs.
