The Austintown library hosted an introduction to Hoopla event on April 4.

Librarian Renee Beverly hosted the event.

“Hoopla is just an online streaming service offered through the library,” Beverly said.

Community members gathered at the event and were able to create their own Hoopla profile, as well as learn about what the program has to offer.

Beverly said Hoopla is a program that offers music movies and television shows free through the library.

Anyone with a valid library card is able to make an account, which allows for 25 rentals a month.

“Not a lot of people know about this service, but it’s really a great and easy way to get movies and music right from home,” Beverly said.

The service is even available to use on your home television with the use of Apple TV or Roku, Beverly said.

She also explained that if there is more than one library card holder in the house, each card can access an account with 25 rentals.

“You can have a huge amount of rentals that are totally free and available to you from home through this,” Beverly said. “Which is really cool.”

The app is also available in the Apple App Store or the Android PlayStore free to download.
