Lady Spartan track and field team places second at county meet

The Boardman Lady Spartan track and field team finished as the 106th Mahoning County Championships runners-up.

Kaylin Burkey was the county champion in the high jump (4-feet 10-inches) and the 300 hurdles (50.49). Burkey also finished third in the 100 hurdles (17.13).

Raegan Burkey was the county champion in the 400 (60.96) and the 800 (2:27.47). Sophia McGee was the county champion in the 3200 (12:30.55).

The 4x800 relay of Julia Gorby, Gina Gabriele, Shayne Harris and Bailey Moore were the county champions with 10:57.37.

County runners-up included Emily Carnahan in the shot put and the 4x400 relay of Bella Alvarico, Salina Jackson, Emma Tokarsky and Raegan Burkey.

Third place finishers on the day included Tokarsky in the 400, Tara Pasvanis and Kenzie Widrig tying in the pole vault and Isabelle Dwyer in the 3200.

Fourth place finishers included Alayna Cuevas in the 1600 and the 4x100 relay of Keimanni Boyd, Destinee Hayes, Dreā€™Ana Elliott and Haley Ho.

Fifth place finishers included Brigita Ositis in the discus, Jordan Solmen in the 300 hurdles, Bella Alvarico in the 200, Keimanni Boyd in the 100 hurdles, Macy Potts in the 1600 and the 4x200 relay of Elliott, Jordan Solmen, Ho and Salina Jackson.

Leading scorers on the season are Kaylin Burkey with 95, Raegan Burkey with 80.25 and Emily Carnahan with 56.
