Food sales and dinners through May 1


THURSDAY

VFW Col. Louis J. Campbell Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals include meatballs, salad, bread and butter and coffee. Cost is $7.50 for adults and $4 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $8 and will be available until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

SATURDAY

American Legion Post 472, 323 E. Indianola Ave., Youngstown, will host a chicken dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. Dinner is sponsored by the women’s auxiliary and will include one-half chicken, potato, vegetable, dessert and a roll. Cost is $10.

Aut Mori Grotto, 563 North Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will host its monthly pancake and sausage breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon. Menu includes all-you-can eat pancakes (only), link sausage, scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage gravy and biscuits, coffee and juice. Cost is $6 per adult, $3 for children under 12 and children under 3 eat free. For information, call 330-519-1579.

Newton Falls Kiwanis Club will sponsor its annual Steak Cookout Benefit from 4 to 7 p.m. at Newton Falls United Methodist Church, 336 Ridge Road. Dinner is $15 and includes steak, salad, potato, corn, dessert and beverage. Proceeds benefit the club’s youth projects. Pre-sale ticket purchases are preferred by calling any Kiwanis member or Bob at 330-872-3854. Tickets will be available at the door. Takeout will be available. There will be a 50-50 raffle and pre-sale orders will be taken for geraniums.

North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet from 7 to 10 a.m. The meal consists of eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage, potatoes, homemade pastries, sausage gravy and biscuits, peppers and mushrooms, coffee, orange juice and other beverages. Holy Apostles Parish, Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 421 Covington St., Youngstown, will host a spaghetti dinner from noon to 3 p.m. in the social hall. Proceeds benefit the Deputy John “Sonny” Litch Memorial Scholarship Fund. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children age 12 and younger. No tickets will be sold at the door. For tickets, call Darlene at 330-750-6104. The scholarship is open to high school students of Croatian and Hungarian descent and any student seeking a career in law enforcement.

Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmount Drive, Youngstown, will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from noon to 3 p.m. Dinner will include sauce, meatballs, salad, Italian bread, coffee, tea and dessert. Takeout will be available. Cost is $8 in advance ($9 at the door), $5 for children ages 3 to 12 and children younger than 3 eat for free. Proceeds benefit the MLLC Community Garden.

Our Lady of the Lakes Men’s Club will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from noon to 4 p.m. at St. James Church hall, 50 Rosemont Road, North Jackson. Cost is $9 for adults and $6 for children younger than age 11. Salads, homemade desserts and drinks are included. Carryout will be available.

St. Lucy’s Cultural Society will host a handmade spaghetti dinner from noon to 4 p.m. at the Palermo Center, 394 Tenney Ave., Campbell. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Menu includes spaghetti with homemade sauce, homemade meatballs, salad, bread and butter, cake and coffee. Take out will be available. Participants can bring containers or purchase them for 50 cents each.

Southington American Legion Post, 3145 Warren-Burton Road, will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Children younger than 4 eat for free. Menu also includes, pancakes and sausage, French toast and sausage or biscuits and gravy.

TAKING ORDERS

Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St., is taking orders for individual ham loaves for $2.50 each. Orders are due by May 3 by calling the church office at 330-545-4361. Pickup will be from noon to 3 p.m. May 13 in the church’s fellowship hall.

Menu includes chicken and dumplings, green beans, bread and butter, dessert, coffee, tea or punch. Cost is $13 for adults and $7 for children age 3 to 10. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling the rectory at 330-743-1905 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. No tickets will be sold at the door. Eat in or takeout (containers provided).

St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor its monthly Sauce and Song event May 5 with a spaghetti dinner and concert by the Canfield Community Band. Dinner will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the concert is set for 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Menu includes spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children age 10 and under. Carryout will be available with containers provided. The concert is free and open to the community. Donations accepted. Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road (state Route 62), Canfield, will host a Swiss steak dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out May 2. Menu includes swiss steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable, applesauce and dessert. Cost $10. This dinner will be takeout only due to the garage sale. Dinners will resume in September.
