Becker’s Angels Rest and Hospice of the Valley will host its annual “Celebration of Remembrance” pet memorial service at 1:30 p.m. May 5 in the chapel of the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St. The memorial is to honor the life and recognize the loss of beloved pets. Everyone is welcome. Registration is required as each pet will be individually recognized during the memorial. Contact Becker’s Angels Rest at 330-750-1393. The deadline to register is May 1.

‘Live from Anywhere’ set for Thursday

Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St., will host “Seeing the World in a Whole New Way” from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Quaker Meeting room. The program will be presented by Space Center Houston and will examine America’s first satellite Explorer and investigate how satellites and Earth observation play a role in everyday life. The program is part of “Live from Anywhere,” a series of interactive video programs that are transmitted from locations around the world to the library. The library hosts this program the fourth Thursday of each month. Audience participation is encouraged. The event is free and open to the public. Library trustees set special meeting

YOUNGSTOWN

The Board of Trustees of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County will host a special meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday in the meeting room of East Library, 430 Early Road. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the library’s levy and the building and sites committee’s recommendation for the architectural firm for the main library renovation. A vote is expected on both items.

Workshop to address educator burnout

NEW WILMINGTON, PA

The Westminster College Graduate School will address educator burnout and compassion fatigue at a special development workshop from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the Hoyt Science Center’s Dietz Sullivan Lecture Hall on the Westminster College campus. The Trauma Informed Care Series for Educators will provide training to K-12 teachers, school counselors and administrators. Participants will learn techniques to properly identify burnout and compassion fatigue and how to engage in constructive interventions that will allow educators to initiate self-care. The workshop offers Pennsylvania Act 48 credits.
