Plein Air artists exhibit their works
YOUNGSTOWN
“As Did Monet, Artists Paint the Landscape” is currently on display in the Weller Gallery at Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave.
This art exhibit, presented by Mill Creek MetroParks, features more than 50 works from local artists who paint in the Plein Air – or open air – style.
A cluster of artists may be seen painting in the landscape throughout surrounding counties. They are a meet-up, outdoor artist group that originated out of the Davis YMCA art studio and has evolved to nearly 80 members.
Some favorite places are Mill Creek MetroParks, Beaver Creek State Park, Poland forest, sunflower fields, farms, old villages, apple orchards, ponds, creeks and more.
This free exhibit is being displayed now through June 2 during normal hours of10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. An artists reception will take place at 1 p.m. May 4. For information, call 330-740-7116.
Jazz, chamber concert at Orr
NEW WILMINGTON, PA.
The Westminster College School of Music will present a gala concert featuring the college Jazz Ensemble, the Chamber Singers and Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Orr Auditorium.

Spring concert at Mount Union
ALLIANCE
The University of Mount Union will present a spring concert featuring the wind ensemble and concert band at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Brush Performance Hall.
The concert will be directed by Willow DiGiacomo, assistant director of bands at Mount Union, and will feature 66 Mount Union students, community members and high- school students. They will perform works by Percy Grainger, John Mackey, Michael Kamen, Fisher Tull and more.
