SENIOR CITIZENS


Lowellville Senior Citizens will meet at noon May 3 at Lowellville City Hall Conference Room. Lunch will be provided. For reservations, call Paula Kacic at 330-718-2856. Brenda Perry, president, will preside. New members are welcome; Lowellville residency is not a requirement. Dues of $10 are being accepted. To report illness or death among members, call Jean Rotz, sunshine chairwoman, at 330-536-8228. Birthdays and anniversaries for May will be acknowledged. Bingo and a 50-50 raffle will follow the business meeting. The June meeting will be a Strawberry Ice Cream Festival, and members are asked to invite a friend.

Mahoning Retired Teachers Association will meet May 8 at Drake’s Landing Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. The social hour will begin at 11 a.m. with lunch at 11:45 followed by the meeting and program. Susan Harris will preside. The program will include the annual “In-Memoriam” by Sally Winsen, “In-Remembrance” by Martha Lopez, and the recognition of all members who are 90 and older. Entertainment will be provided by the Struthers choir. The community service collection will aid the Down Syndrome Association of Mahoning Valley. Grilled chicken salad or the buffet lunch, which includes herb-baked chicken, pasta, redskin potatoes, broccoli, tossed salad and strawberry dessert, will be served.
