Poland Seminary High School hosted the second annual Exceptional Art Show on April 9.

Schools from all over Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull counties brought art work to display during the event.

According to Lindsay Ignazio, the Intervention Specialist at Poland schools, the art show is a great way to show off the artistry of disabled students.

“This event shines a light on the abilities that are typically overlooked by disabilities,” Ignazio said.

Students in grades kindergarten through 12 were encouraged to showcase their art work.

The art on display was from a variety of mediums, including paintings and 3D art projects.

“As a team, we wanted to create a night that showcases the creative imagination that each individual holds,” Ignazio said.

She said that the show was started a year ago, and has expanded in its short existence.

Ignazio said that any school interested in participating is welcome to in upcoming events.
