The Michael Kusalaba library hosted a St. Patrick’s Day Green Party on March 16.

Children and their parents attended the event, hosted by librarian Rhonda Monroe.

“We wanted to do a fun St. Patrick’s Day celebration,” Monroe said.

To kick off the event, Monroe showed a special PBS video about the history of St. Patrick’s Day.

Children learned about St. Patrick, and were quizzed on fun facts including that he was not actually Irish.

After the video children competed at number of games to win prizes.

“We wanted to do a super fun, competitive but family friendly event,” Monroe said.

Prizes included a variety of small items and books children who won could choose from.

The library also provided snacks and trinkets for children to take home with them.

After the games children worked to create pasta necklaces with dyed pieces of dry pasta.
