Boardman Park hosted the 16th annual Evening with the Easter Bunny event on April 10 and 11.

The event took place both days for two hours at the Lariccia Family Community Center.

“It’s just another fun event families make their holiday tradition,” said Karen McCallum, the park’s recreation director.

During the event community members could get professional photos with the Easter Bunny. The park also provided a variety of crafts for children and their families to do. Students were also able to pet a live bunny thanks to Nicole D’Angelo, a volunteer from the local 4-H club who brought Ginger the rabbit.

“We just want families to come and have a good time and enjoy the holiday,” McCallum said.

Dinner was provided to the families to enjoy while watching Easter movies. The park even provided a reading corner for children to escape to, loaded up with books about the Easter Bunny.

“Sometimes kids get overwhelmed so we like to provide a quiet place for them to go and enjoy, so that everyone no matter what has a good time,” McCallum said.
