Austintown library hosted their monthly Chapter Chat book club on March 28.

The group meets near the end of every month and discusses books of different genres.

“There’s a lot of conversation, and a big variety of people that attend,” said Andrea Zupscan, an Austintown librarian who organized the group.

Zupscan said the book club has been meeting for about three years.

Members of the club select the books from large lists created by Zupscan comprising different genres.

The group read “Radium Girls” by Kate Moore for this month.

Many members attended the meeting with notes and marks in their books preparing for the discussion.

“A lot of people really care about this group, it’s fun and it keeps me reading,” Zupscan said.

The group also often has snacks during their meetings, matching food items in the books whenever possible.

“We always make sure we are reading a variety of books, and don’t get bogged down in one genre or author,” Zupscan said.

She said that about 12 members attend the group monthly, but that new members are welcome every month.

Members of the group even travel from Poland and Canfield to attend the Austintown meetings.

Next month the group will be reading “A Room of Ones Own” by Virginia Woolf, and “Elevation” by Stephen Kind in May.
