Beatitude House will host its 20th annual Wine Taste and Auction at 5:30 p.m. May 3 at The Embassy in Boardman. Platinum sponsors include the Muransky Companies and Astro Shapes Inc. Cleveland School of Hearing and Speech will sponsor a quarter auction at 7 p.m. May 5 at the Austintown Eagles Aerie 3298, 1655 S. Raccoon Road. Admission is $5 at the door. Proceeds will benefit Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center. Doors open at 6:30. Extra paddles will be available for $1 each, and gold paddles also will be available. St. Joseph the Provider School, Youngstown, will sponsor its annual basket and gift auction with a buffet dinner at 6:30 p.m. April 26 at St. Patrick Church, 357 N. Holy Apostles Parish, 854 Wilson Ave., Youngstown, will host a Spring Fling Bingo and Card Party at 2 p.m. April 28 in the social hall. The event is sponsored by the church’s Altar and Rosary Society. Donation is $5 and includes lunch and door prizes. Tickets can be purchased after Mass each week and at the door. There will be special raffles and a 50-50 drawing.

Columbiana Area Tourism Bureau will host the 2019 Columbiana Wine Festival from 4 to 9 p.m. July 19 and from 2 to 9 p.m. July 20 in the Town Center at Firestone Farms, 101 Town Center Ave. The $1 each water and pop sales will benefit the Community Hospice. The event will feature live entertainment, food, artisan/vendors and wine selections from Barrel Run Crossing Winery & Vineyard, Luva Bella Winery, Mastropietro Winery, The Vineyards at Pine Lake and more. Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County will host its 13th annual “Plant the Seed to Read” Children’s Book Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27 at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek MetroParks. The event, “Reading’s My Superpower,” will host authors, illustrators, storytellers, readers, giveaways and more. The event is free and open to the community.

Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Youngstown, 5090 Market St., Boardman, will host the third annual “Pastries for Pets” fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. Friday. Proceeds benefit the “Angel Wing” of Angels for Animals in Canfield. The fundraiser was started by Bryanna Jones, 4-years old at the time, who continues to assist with the bake sale.

Girard Multi-Generational Center’s annual fundraiser “Cars are the Stars 5” will include two special raffles this year. Winners will be announced the day of the show, June 1 (rain date, June 8). Tickets are $6 for each raffle and must be purchased by May 17. Tickets will be $8 at the door. Registration the day of the show will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the show will be from 1 to 3. The first raffle is for a Flat Screen TV (sponsored by Rep. Glenn W. Holmes, D-63) and the second is for a $250 Visa gift card (sponsored by Windsor House Inc.). Winners do not need to be present, and all proceeds will benefit the center. Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has nearly new clothes for the entire family. Inventory clearance continues in April. Items will be $1 each, except jewelry, shoes, purses, prom and party dresses. Light purple tickets will showcase the cost of each item. Store hours are from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesdays. The store will be closed April 30 due to setting up for the garage sale May 3 and 4.

Poland Lions Club will host its annual Treasures of the Trunk sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 8 at Poland High School, 3199 Dobbins Road, in the stadium parking lot. Vendors are needed with limit of 100 spaces. Crafters, home goods, furniture, toys, specialty items and garage sale items are welcome. Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild will host its 17th annual Spring Extravaganza Style and Creativity Show from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. May 4 at A La Carte Catering in Canfield. In addition to the show, there will be a judged Denim Recycling sewing challenge for members. Cost is $24 for members and $27 for nonmembers and includes a full course lunch. East Palestine Rotary Club will host Breakfast with the Easter Bunny from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Community Center at the Village Park, 31 Park Drive. Breakfast will include pancakes and sausage and milk, orange juice, water or coffee. Cost will be $5 for adults and $2.50 for children. Pictures with the Easter bunny will be available from 10:30 to 11:30 for $8. There also will be a basket auction with tickets at $1 each, $5 for 10 or $10 for 30. LIVE New Wilmington will sponsor The Tour de Donut, a bike ride that will take place June 8. Riders will depart from Memorial Field House at Westminster College. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and cost is $20 per rider, which includes a limited edition T-shirt. Various routes will include 10 miles, two 30-mile choices, and a hill challenge. Poland Historical Society will sponsor a bus trip to Pittsburgh on Sept. 18.
