Officers and board members for 2019 announced

The Association of Fundraising Professionals, Mahoning-Shenango Chapter recently appointed its 2019 officers and board members. Officers of AFP are: president, Lisa Long, financial resource development director for the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation; president-elect, Landis Erwin, major gifts officer at Westminster College; immediate past president, Lisa Gentile, development director of Copeland Oaks Foundation; vice president communications, Jodi Harmon, and marketing and events coordinator for Potential Development program; vice president membership, Deborah Liptak, development director of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County; vice president program, Colleen Kelly, director of development at Youngstown Business Incubator; secretary, Kathleen Austrino, foundation president of Altrusa International of Youngstown, Ohio Inc.; and treasurer, Lynn Wyant, vice president of development for Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley.
Committee chairpersons are government relations, Rebecca Davis, development director for The Butler Institute of American Art; ethics and diversity, Laura Dewberry, director for the Center for Nonprofit Leadership at Youngstown State University; mentoring, James G. Echement, senior counsel for Carlton & Co.; scholarship, Sally Freaney, Grant Center librarian for PLYMC; strategic planning, Linda Kostka, development director of the Mahoning Valley Historical Society; and planned giving, Joann Stock, fundraising consultant.
Board members are James Baber, executive vice president for academic and student affairs at Eastern Gateway Community College; Bonnie Benton, director of advancement for Inspiring Minds; Susan Berny, director of gift planning at Ohio Living Park Vista; Mario Marini, director of special and planned giving at Thiel College; Susan Moorer, development officer at WYSU 88.5 FM YSU; Chaney Nezbeth, development officer for YSU Foundation; Helen Paes, consultant; and Tony Perrone, director of donor engagement for Shepherd’s Foundation.
Wyant, Echement, Kostka, Stock and Benton also are certified fundraising executives.
The AFP exists to advance philanthropy with advocacy, research, education and certification programs while fostering development and growth of fundraising professionals and promoting ethical standards in the fundraising profession. The chapter strives to be representative of the communities it serves, and invites any interested parties to join in furthering the cause.
