The Vangeloffs celebrate 70 years together
YOUNGSTOWN
Walter and Doris Vangeloff of Youngstown recently celebrated their 70th anniversary during a luncheon at Park Vista that was hosted by their children. The couple’s children are Beverly Vangeloff-Cook of Canfield; Gary Vangeloff of Youngstown; and Jim (Amy) Vangeloff of Carmel, Ind. Another daughter, Nancy, and a son-in-law, Gary Cook, are deceased. Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren complete their family.
Mr. Vangeloff married the former Doris Muriel Wright on April 9, 1949, during a candlelight service at the First Reformed Church of Youngstown.
Mrs. Vangeloff was a stenographer before she married, and a homemaker. She also enjoyed baking bread, pies and cookies, and working in her rock garden and with roses.
Her husband earned a degree in electrical engineering from Youngstown University and retired from the William B. Pollock Co. in 1982. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served during World War II.
The couple spent years bird watching, traveling and dancing to Big Band music.
