Eirini Liodakis, Creative Arts and Design junior at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, has partnered with the Make a Wish Foundation to launch her Wishing for Kindness campaign.

Originally, Liodakis came up with a logo design for a contest she was entering, but decided to take it a little further.

“I am a extremely sympathetic person and I love helping people out and spreading kindness. So, when I heard that I could help this amazing cause, I was all for it,” Liodakis said.

Along with the help of her teacher, Melissa Hackett, Liodakis contacted A-Z Athletics to see if they would print her logo on T-shirts and hoodies so she could sell them to raise money for Connor, a local Make a Wish child.

“Melissa Hackett is one of the most amazing teachers I have ever had. She constantly is there to give me pep talks and motivate me. In addition to being an all around amazing person, she has really helped me grow, both in arts and as a person,” Liodakis said.

Connor is a 7-year-old from Canfield who is battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. His wish is to go to Disney and Legoland. In order to make his wish come true, Liodakis is trying to raise $8,000 by selling her apparel.

To purchase a T-shirt or hoodie, visit the school web site at www.mahoningctc.com/store. Donations may also be made directly to Connor’s wish at site.wish.org/goto/spreadkindness.

Liodakis feels it is important to spread kindness and knows it can make a difference.

“It all started with a Martin Luther King Jr. project I was assigned, and when completing this I felt inspired to focus on his quality of kindness. So, I came up with the design of spreading ‘kindness’ over the world, symbolized by bread. I feel like it is so important to spread kindness to everyone. Whether it’s something big or small, it can make a difference,” Liodakis said.
