Friendly Squares will host its monthly square dance from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Niles SCOPE Center, 14 E. State St., Niles. The theme will be “1970s Disco.” This will be a high/low dance with alternating tips for new dancers currently taking lessons and tips for more experienced dancers. Be Kind To Your Mind, a Christian group, will meet at The Way Station, state Route 14, Columbiana, on Monday. This six-session group will include prayer, meditation, mindfulness and other resources for healing the mind and body. It will be led by Judy A. SOCIETIES

Boardman Historical Society will sponsor a lecture at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Boardman Public Library, 7680 Glenwood Ave. Traci Manning, local historian and curator of education with the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, will give a presentation about “Founding Mothers: Great Women in Mahoning Valley History.” Catherine Dougherty-Hillman, Dora Schwebel, Mary Ann Campana and others will share stories and struggles. Niles Historical Society will host its annual spring banquet and fundraiser at 6 p.m. April 25 at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre, 123 N. Main St., Niles. The speaker will be Sean Posey, historian and author of the books “Lost Youngstown” and “Historic Theaters of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.” Plans are being made for Niles third-graders to visit the Ward-Thomas Museum in May to learn about local history. Poland Historical Society will meet at the Little Red Schoolhouse, 4515 Center Road, Poland, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Ginny Meloy will present a program at 7:30, “The Centennial Garden - A Garden of Dreams,” and Cathy Lund will speak about the Poland Village Gardeners Garden Club and its activities.

William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. April 20 in the Kravitz Deli meeting room, 3135 Belmont Ave., Liberty Township. Dan Perelman of New Castle, Pa., author and jeweler, will share tales from his book, “Road to Rust: The Disintegration of the Steel Industry in Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio.” Cost is $6 for nonmembers. SUPPORT GROUPS

Grief Share program will be hosted by Churchill United Methodist Church, 189 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, Youngstown, on Thursdays through May 23. Grief Share is a Christian, Christ-centered program. All who have suffered the loss of a loved one or friend are welcome. The group meets on the second floor of the church’s education wing. An elevator is available. Grief Recovery Instructional Support Group meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home Care Center, next to the funeral home, on Main Street in Hubbard. The group is led by Phillip Roland, grief counselor for the funeral home, and is open to anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one.
