BOARDMAN

Travis Harvey (2-1) struck out nine and scattered five hits in six innings for the Spartans (4-6, 3-2 All-American Conference Red Tier). Shay Eicher worked a scoreless seventh. Boardman had just four hits against Howland pitchers Vincent Marimprietri and Joey Perfette, but took advantage of two errors by the Tigers in a five-run second inning. Cam Kreps had a double, drove in a run and scored for the Spartans. Frankie Manios had two hits for the Tigers.

Cardinal Mooney 13, Liberty 1

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP

Ethan Shaw had a triple and three RBIs for Mooney. Matt Womer and Colin Rushen drove in two runs each for the Cardinals. Rushen also had two hits. AJ Pepperney was the winning pitcher, striking out three in three innings.

Poland 7, Lakeview 3

POLAND

Z. Yaskulka doubled and drove in three runs for Poland. Braden Olson had three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Winning pitcher A. Barth struck out four and walked two. He had two hits and scored a run. For Lakeview, C. Lazzari had three hits and J. Wilms two.

Niles 16, Struthers 1

NILES

Joe Gallo had four hits and drove in three runs for the Red Dragons. Zack Leonard had two hits and two RBIs while Nick Guarnieri contributed two hits, two RBis and three runs scored. For the Wildcats, Robert Tomko had three hits.

South Range 3, Hubbard 0

BEAVER TOWNSHIP

Sam Brooks struck out eight in four innings for South Range (7-1, 5-1 Northeast 8). Luke Blasko led the Raiders offense with two hits. Evan Jarvis led Hubbard (5-7, 2-4) with three hits and Jamie Thomson had two. Lukas Mosora tripled for the Eagles.

Crestview 17, Heartland Christian 6

COLUMBIANA

James Fitzgerald had three singles and four RBIs for the Rebels (8-2) and Carter Blakeman homered, singled and drove in four runs. Isaac Ricketts added two singles and a double, Devin Turvey had a single and double and Keith Berger added two singles. Turvey was the winning pitcher. He struck out five.

Lowellville 8-6, Sebring 2-2

STRUTHERS

Bryan Harris allowed no earned runs in four innings while striking out five as the Rockets took the first of two games against the Trojans. Vinnie Kacir tripled to lead Lowellville at the plate. Joe Clark had two of Sebring’s four hits. The Rockets’ Matt Hvisdak struck out five batters in relief to pick up the win in the second game. Jake Rotz and Harris scored twice for Lowellville. Zane Peterson drove in both runs for Sebring (1-4, 1-4).

McDonald 9, Badger 1

MCDONALD

Tanner Matig led McDonald with a hit and two RBI. Zach Nolf added two hits for the Blue Devils. Ty Tamburro was the winning pitcher, striking out nine and allowing just one run in a complete game. Koby Wear had a hit and an RBI for Badger.

Columbiana 14, Lisbon 5

LISBON

Columbiana (4-4) jumped out early with a five run first inning. Erik Hopfenziz drove in four runs for the Clippers and had a triple. Michael Ginocchi had three hits and three RBI. Jake Entrikin led Lisbon (3-6) with one hit and two RBIs.

West Branch 2, Salem 0

BELOIT

David Cunningham pitched a three-hitter and struck out nine for the Warriors (5-4, 3-2 Eastern Buckeye Conference). Brock Hillyer doubled and drove in a run for West Branch. Salem’s Lane Rhodes worked six innings and allowed one unearned run on three hits. The Quakers fell to 3-5 and 2-3. The teams meet again today in Salem.

Maplewood 10, Bristol 8

BRISTOLVILLE

The Rockets (3-2) erased a 7-6 deficit with a run in the sixth and three in the seventh and held on to beat the Panthers (6-3). Hunter Bates had two hits and Jared Bedlion drove in three runs for Maplewood. Matt Church had a single, double and three RBIs for Bristol.

Boardman 13, Howland 7

BOARDMAN

The Spartans jumped on the Tigers early with six runs in the bottom of the first inning. Lauren Maughan had three hits, including a double, for Boardman and Dana Haus, Jenna Olexa, Madison Lester and Vanessa Roush each had two hits. Maughan drove in three runs and Roush had two RBIs. Emily O’Connell had three hits for Howland and Marissa Jerina, Marissa Miller and Bailee Beasom each had two. O’Connell had two doubles and Jerina added another. Beasom had two RBIs.

Canfield 15, Lakeside 13

Kalin Kovach had three hits including two homers, scored four runs and drove in four for the Cardinals.

Austintown Fitch 10, Warren Harding 2

AUSTINTOWN

Lydia Spalding came up a homerun short of hitting for the cycle and drove in two runs to lead Fitch (6-4, 5-1 AAC Red). Lainie Simons hit a home run and Maddy Taylor had three hits, including a home run and two RBIs for Fitch. Karlie Hileman led Harding (3-10) with two hits.

Liberty 17, Warren JFK 14

LIBERTY

Attaya Rhodes and Makenzie McBride each had four hits and Madison Weinreber and Olivia Benson each had two for the Leopards. The teams combined for 31 runs, 25 hits and nine errors. J. Sasnovsky, F. Hollobaugh and G. Foreman each had three hits for the Eagles. Sasnovsky, Hollobaugh and J. McKay each had two RBIs. Sydney Lara doubled and Weinreber tripled. Sasnovsky and Hollobaugh each had a double for Warren JFK.

Haley Eskra had three hits and a walk and scored three runs for the Rebels. Olivia Strank, Kaedyn Sutton and Skyler Mattern each had two hits and two RBIs and Shianna Mathes singled twice. Kaedyn Sutton struck out eight and scattered five hits for Crestview (12-2).

POLAND

Ashley Wire (5-0) tossed a five-hitter, striking out four and walking two for Poland (9-0, 6-0 Northeast 8). Camryn Lattanzio hit a solo homer and a bases-loaded double to dive in four runs. Ally Nittoli’s three hits included a homer and she drove in three runs. Brooke Bobbey had three hits, three runs scored and two RBIs. KaiLi Gross contributed three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. For Lakeview, Cait Kelm had two hits.

South Range 11, Hubbard 2

HUBBARD

Winning pitcher Bree Kohler tossed a five-hitter, striking out five and walking none for the Raiders (6-3, 4-2 NE8). Her three hits included two triples and she drove in three runs. Jillian Strecansky’s three hits included a triple and double. Marlaina Slabach and Julie Centofanti each had three hits. Centofanti, Drew Feren and Maddie Helon each drove in two runs. For the Eagles (4-4, 3-3), Sydney Bowser had three hits and one RBI.

NILES

Mary Bayus had three hits including a double, four RBIs and three runs scored. Trinity Farrar had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs for the Wildcats. Maddie Bova had two hits, including a double, three RBIs and three runs scored and Kaylie Bolevich had two hits and two RBIs and scored three times for Struthers. Rachel Libert had two hits, including a double, and scored three times for Niles.

McDonald 10, Sebring 0

MCDONALD

Blue Devils pitchers Bri Callow and Lucy Wolford combined to blank the Trojans. Callow worked the first 42/3 inning and struck out the first 14 batters she faced before a Sebring player reached on an error. Wolford pitched the final 11/3 innings. Wolford singled, doubled and drove in two runs for McDonald (5-3, 5-0 Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference). Megan Ward singled twice for the Blue Devils.

Springfield 7, Lowellville 2

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Abby Joseph threw a three-hitter and aided her own cause with two hits and two RBIs as the Tigers bested the Rockets. Joseph struck out 10 and walked two. Hayley Tydings singled twice and had three RBIs and Makenzy Capouellez singled, tripled and drove in two runs. Jacqueline Kish and Kaelen Yemma each had two hits and Mya Duskey had a double.

Waterloo 13, Mineral Ridge 1

MINERAL RIDGE

Memory Lyons singled twice, tripled, hit a three-run homer and finished with five RBIs for the Vikings (6-0, 4-0 MVAC). Amber Ciplinski hit a three-run homer and a single, Grace Gombeda had thee singles and Laura Hood had two for Waterloo. Mackensi Kehrer pitched a complete game. She has all six of the Vikings’ wins. Rosie Nolder singled and tripled and Courtney Boyer drove in the only run for the Rams.

Western Reserve 12, Jackson-Milton 5

BERLIN CENTER

Alyssa Serensky had a single and a triple, driving in four runs for Western Reserve (4-4). Jasmine Phillips added two hits and two RBI and Layla Woolf drove in two run for the Blue Devils. Chelsea Williams and Abby Spalding had three hits each for Jackson-Milton. Dana Saunders homered for the Blue Jays and Camryn Mitchell had an RBI single.

Minerva 4, Salem 2

SALEM

Stella Boldizar had a triple to lead Minerva. Elyssa Imler added two doubles. Taylor Thorpe struck out 14 for Salem.

Canton South 9, West Branch 8

BELOIT

Morgan Dalton had three hits and three RBI for Canton South. Ashley Zwick added three hits and an RBI. Jordan Anderson had two hits and three RBI to lead West Branch. Peyton Alazaus added two RBIs for the Warriors.

Badger 10, Columbiana 9

KINSMAN

Haylee Mott led the Braves with three hits and four RBIs. Samantha Pykare contributed two hits, two runs scored and two RBIs. For the Clippers, Khylee Fullum had two hits and two RBIs.

BRISTOLVILLE

Kayla Switzer homered and drove in three runs for the Panthers and Bella Homchosky had a double. Winning pitcher Jaylyn Mullenax struck out seven and didn’t walk a batter.

CHARDON

Isabella Kelty scored four goals for the Cardinals (11-3), but Canfield fell on the road. Emily Wilson, Shianne Donnarummno, Claire Crescimanno and Sarah Grohovsky had a goal and Athena Poullas and Tara Santoro had assists. Mara Guerrieri had seven saves. Details for the Hilltoppers were not reported.

Zoe Simon and Jillian Phillips each scored three goals to help the Bulldogs win on the road for the first time this season.
