Jay Bruce hit two solo home runs, Tim Beckham had a three-run shot among his four hits and the Seattle Mariners beat the Chicago White Sox. Tim Anderson and Jose Abreu also went deep for Chicago. Mike Leake (2-0) allowed nine hits and struck out six through 61/3 innings for Seattle. Lucas Giolito (1-1) pitched 41/3 innings and allowed five runs.

BALTIMORE
Aaron Judge homered twice, Clint Frazier hit a three-run shot in the eighth inning and the New York Yankees beat the Baltimore Orioles. Adam Ottavino (1-0) allowed two inherited runners to score in the seventh. Aroldis Chapman earned his second save. Trey Mancini hit his fourth home run for the Orioles.

HOUSTON
Michael Brantley broke out of a slump with two hits, including a two-run homer, and George Springer added a two-run shot and the Houston Astros beat the Oakland Athletics. Wade Miley (1-1) allowed four hits in 52/3 innings for Houston. Oakland starter Aaron Brooks (1-1) yielded nine hits and five runs in five innings.

ANAHEIM, CALIF.
Mike Trout hit a grand slam for his fourth homer in three days, and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Texas Rangers for their first back-to-back victories of the season. Albert Pujols added his 634th career homer in the seventh. Isiah Kiner-Falefa had an RBI single in the fifth for the Rangers. Tyler Skaggs (1-1) pitched 61/3 innings of five-hit ball for the Angels. Drew Smyly (0-1) gave up six hits and three walks.

Padres 6, Cardinals 4
ST. LOUIS
Austin Hedges and Manny Machado each hit a two-run homer off Andrew Miller in the eighth inning, helping the San Diego Padres beat the St. Louis Cardinals for their third consecutive win. It was the first time that Miller (0-1) allowed multiple homers in a game since Sept. 22, 2015. Matt Wisler (1-0) pitched two scoreless innings for the win. Kirby Yates earned his fifth save.

MILWAUKEE
Jason Heyward went deep twice for his first multihomer game in a Cubs uniform, Cole Hamels grinded through six solid innings and Chicago beat the Milwaukee Brewers to end a six-game skid. Heyward hit the first of three Chicago homers against starter Corbin Burnes, with Javier Baez and Victor Caratini also going yard. Burnes (0-1) struck out six but allowed nine base runners.

Rookie Pete Alonso and Robinson Cano hit back-to-back home runs to begin the eighth and Keon Broxton lined an RBI single later in the inning, lifting the New York Mets over the Washington Nationals. J.D. Davis hit two home runs and Michael Conforto for the Mets. Anthony Rendon hit a leadoff homer and Wilmer Difo added a two-run shot in the eighth. Edwin Diaz earned his fourth save.

ATLANTA
Jorge Alfaro homered twice, including a tiebreaking, two-run shot in the ninth inning, and the Miami Marlins beat the Atlanta Braves. His first long ball came off Braves starter Kyle Wright and the second one off reliever A.J. Minter (0-1). Sergio Romo (1-0) pitched 11/3 innings. Adam Conley earned his first save.

Twins 6, Phillies 2
PHILADELPHIA
Max Kepler and Willians Astudillo hit consecutive homers, Eddie Rosario hit a three-run shot and the Minnesota Twins beat the Philadelphia Phillies. Rhys Hoskins went deep for the Phillies. Michael Pineda (1-0) allowed two runs and four hits, striking out five in five-plus innings for the Twins. Jake Arrieta (1-1) gave up three runs and five hits in seven innings.

Brandon Belt homered and drove in three, and the San Francisco Giants beat the Tampa Bay Rays. Steven Duggar had three RBIs for the Giants. Ji-Man Choi had two hits and two RBIs for Tampa Bay. Travis Bergen (1-0) earned his first career victory in relief. Will Smith earned his third save. Ryan Yarbrough (1-1) allowed four runs in three innings.
