YSU announces Pete’s Reading Club

Youngstown State’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is launching Pete’s Reading Club, an incentive-based program to inspire area children to read.

Students who reach reading goals established by their teachers will receive a free ticket to attend a YSU men’s or women’s basketball game as a group during the 2019-20 season. Teachers will also receive a free ticket to the chosen game, and there will be discounted tickets for families. Students will be involved in an on-court activity at the game they choose to attend.

As an added bonus, Pete the Penguin will visit participating classrooms during the school year.
