White Sox 10, Mariners 8

CHICAGO

Yoan Moncada hit a go-ahead, two-run single in the seventh inning and the Chicago White Sox beated the Seattle Mariners. Moncada’s single off Zac Rosscup made it 9-8 after Cory Gearrin (0-1) hit Welington Castillo in the seventh. Domingo Santana and Dan Vogelbach homered for Seattle. Ryan Burr (1-0) worked a scoreless 11/3 innings in relief. Alex Colome earned his second save of the season.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

Padres 5, Cardinals 3

ST. LOUIS

Rookie Fernando Tatis Jr. and pinch-hitter Hunter Renfroe homered as the San Diego Padres beat St. Louis in the Cardinals’ home opener. Paul Goldschmidt hit his fifth home run with St. Louis. Padres starter Nick Margevicius allowed one hit over five innings, striking out one and walking one. Kirby Yates closed for his fourth save.

Braves 4, Marlins 0

ATLANTA

Kevin Gausman allowed only two hits in seven innings, Ronald Acuna Jr. and Tyler Flowers homered and the Atlanta Braves beat the Miami Marlins. Gausman (1-0) allowed two hits with two walks and seven strikeouts in six innings. Pablo Lopez (1-1) gave up Acuna’s two-run homer.

Dodgers 10, Rockies 6

DENVER

Max Muncy, Cody Bellinger and Russell Martin homered as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat Colorado in the Rockies’ home opener. Bellinger hit a three-run drive in the fifth. Trevor Story homered twice for Colorado. Kenta Maeda (2-0) allowed four hits and a run in five innings. Tyler Anderson (0-2) allowed six runs over four innings.

INTERLEAGUE

Rays 5, Giants 2

SAN FRANCISCO

Yandy Diaz and Kevin Kiermaier hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning and Tampa Bay spoiled the San Francisco Giants’ home opener. Tyler Glasnow (2-0) pitched six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out six. Jose Alvarado earned his third save.

Diamondbacks 15, Red Sox 8

PHOENIX

Ketel Marte homered from both sides of the plate, including a grand slam, and Arizona beat the Boston Red Sox. Mookie Betts and Mitch Moreland homered for Boston. Rick Porcello (0-2) gave up 10 hits and seven runs in 42/3 innings. Zack Godley (1-1) allowed three hits and one run in 52/3 innings.

Phillies 10, Twins 4

PHILADELPHIA

Rhys Hoskins had three hits and drove in four runs and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Minnesota Twins despite Jorge Polanco hitting for the cycle. Nick Pivetta (1-0) gave up four runs — three earned — and nine hits in five innings. Jake Odorizzi (0-1) allowed five runs in the first.
