The Canfield High School Players will present “The Twilight Zone” at 7 p.m. on April 12-13, and at 2 p.m. on April 14. The play will include the enactment of four episodes of the original television series.

“All four episodes were written by Rod Serling, the genius behind the series. Canfield Players has the support of the Serling Foundation and the permission of Serling’s daughter and CBS. The play will be appropriate for all ages and will highlight mankind as only Serling was able to do. ‘The Twilight Zone” series was an unconventional way to look at ourselves and see both the good and evil, the joy and sadness, and the fear and longings we all possess,” said Regina Reynolds, director.

The four episodes include, “Changing of the Guard,” “Time Enough at Last,” “Monsters on Maple Street” and “A Pitch for the Angels.”

“I am a big fan of ‘The Twilight Zone.’ I saw it performed at the Hopewell Theater and thought it would be a good play for students to do and I thought we could put a lot of students in it. The stories are what you wouldn’t think. I always say it’s like ‘The Gift of the Magi,’ in that the end is a surprise,” Reynolds said.

The cast of “The Twilight Zone” includes, Alex Sanders as Lewis Bookman; Abby Palmer as Housekeeper and Mrs. Goodman; Jordan Simmons as Rod Serling and Don; Ben Doss as Rod Serling and Dickie Vice; Kaleigh Ceci as Hudson and Helen; Katie Dysert as Thompson, Mrs. Chesters and Person Number One; Lauren Johnson as Professor Ellis Fowler and Townsperson; Annabelle Scianna as Death, Student McTarish and Townsperson; Emily Dunlap as Housekeeper; Briana Haddon as Mom; Anthony Scarmack as Dad, Bank President Mr. Carsville, Artie Beechcroft and Steve; Hayden Nottingham as Charlie Whitting; Chloe Hudock as Student, Rye and Mrs. Brand; Gregory Halley as Henry Bemis and Student Eckhart; Katherine Roman as Head Mistress and Woman; Connor Cutrer as Less Goodman and Student and Becca Heikkinen as Maggie and Little Girls. Grace Schuler serves as stage manager.

“The Twilight Zone” will be presented at the Canfield High School Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens. Tickets may be purchased at the door, or call 330-702-7128.
