In the first meet of the season, the Boardman Glenwood Junior High School boys track team beat Struthers Middle School by a score of 85-10 on March 27.
The Spartan boys won every event except one and had a clean sweep of the majority of the events.
Top performers were Brady DePeitro winning the 110 and 200 meter hurdles and also placing second in the 200 meter; Andre Averette winning both shot put and discus; Josh Zilavy winning the high jump and 1600 meter run and Ben Zilavy winning the 800 meter and long jump.
Other first place finishers included Fernando Ortiz in the 100 meter and Deleonte Willis in the 200 meter dashes.The Glenwood boys also won the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relays.
Second place finishers included Fernando Ortiz in the 110 hurdles; Armon Yi in the 100 meter; Ben Zilavy in the 1600 meter; Tyler Terlesky in the shot put; Jerad Mahood in the 200 hurdles; Alex Anzevino in the 800 meters and Branson Gagliano in the long jump.
Third place finishers included John Chetsko in the 110 hurdles; Cordale McDowell in the 100 meter; Andrew Yocum in the 1600 meter; AJ Nigro in the high jump; Ricky Boyarko in the shot put; Willy Torres in the 200 hurldes; Brock Farris in the 800 meter; Adam Crawford in the 200 meter and Sava Crnjak in the long jump.
