The Austintown Community Baseball board members and coaches have been busy seeking grants, fundraising and connecting with local valley businesses to tackle a lot of improvement projects this off-season.
The Stryffeler Indoor Batting facility received a makeover with a fresh coat of paint and indoor turf covering the concrete surface. Every baseball diamond at Champ Park had their fences replaced and upgraded to improve the look and safety.
Much more work is lined up in the way of painting, replacing the roof at Libbee Field Clubhouse and installing restrooms with running water at Champ Park.
None of this would be possible without the hard work of ACB members and contributions from Gabriel’s Fence, DJV Flooring, Austintown Home Depot, Banner Supply and Sherwin-Williams.
Help support the players at ACB this spring by participating in some of their upcoming fundraisers.
New this year is a local tag-team partnership with Noday’s Deli in the annual pepperoni roll fundraiser.
If you have old sneakers or cleats laying around, donate them to ACB by dropping them off at the club houses at Libbee or Champ Park. Each usable pair earns $1 for the ACB organization.
The second annual Reverse Raffle will take place at the Maronite Center Pavilion on June 1. There will be dozens of items in the Chinese auction like dining gift cards, tickets for sporting events, professional sports signed memorabilia, and winery and brewery packages.
The ACB regular season opening day is scheduled for April 27.
