The Penn State Shenango Campus Earth Fest will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, with entertainment, an educational presentation on sustainability by author Seamus McGraw, children’s activities, an artists market, Penn State Berkey Creamery Ice Cream, and information on sustainability. Admission is free.
Entertainment will begin at 11 a.m. in the campus’ Great Hall with a community drum circle. All are welcome, and drums will be provided, or you can bring your own. At noon and 3 p.m., songwriter/puppeteer Christopher Rowlands will perform. McGraw will give a presentation at 1:15 p.m. in the Great Hall.
Activities for children and family members from the Oh Wow! children’s science center will be available.
There will also be a flag drive; worn and tattered American flags can be dropped off for proper disposal. An exhibition of upcycled artwork created by local students will be displayed. For information, find Penn State Shenango Earth Fest on Facebook.
Dana choral concert at St. Columba Cathedral

The Dana School of Music’s Spring Choral Concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Columba Cathedral, 159 W. Rayen Ave. in Youngstown. Admission to the concert, titled “Peace in Time of Affliction: Immortality in Music,” is free. The Dana Chorale and Youngstown State University Barbershop Chorus, both under the direction of Hae-Jong Lee, will perform, as will Voices of YSU, directed by Daniel Keown.
Animal baby shower at MetroParks farm
CANFIELD
Mill Creek MetroParks’ annual Farm Animal Baby Shower will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the MetroParks Farm, 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road. Admission is free for this family event that will feature newborn goats, lambs, a calf, chicks, ducks, turkeys, geese and more. Expectant animals, and a mare with her foal, will be shown. Cake and punch will be served while supplies last. Donations will be accepted. The Farm Animal Baby Shower marks the official opening of the barns at the MetroParks Farm, which will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m., with extended hours until 6 p.m. during summer months.
