Mooney to host YES Fest on Friday

YOUNGSTOWN

Cardinal Mooney High School, 2545 Erie St., will host its 6th annual YES Fest from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday. The event is a challenge to students and everyone to be drug-free and to get involved in one of the many organizations that exist in the community. The public is welcome. Luke Wollet will be the guest speaker.

Wollett was a Kent State all-conference safety who was drafted to the NFL in 2014 and was set to play for the New Orleans Saints.

As a result of two major injuries that led to surgery and prescription opioid pain medication, he became addicted and turned to heroin when the pain medicine expired and never made it to training camp. He is two years sober and works in the field of addiction treatment.
