Miller, Dorsey bands coming to Stambaugh

YOUNGSTOWN

A Battle of the Big Bands featuring the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra will come to Stambaugh Auditorium on Oct. 30.

The two big band jazz orchestras will engage in a back-and-forth competition on the stage that will showcase jazz, swing and standards from their era.

Tickets range from $20 to $80 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Stambaugh box office, 1000 Fifth Ave.,; online at stambaughauditorium.com; and by phone at 330-259-0555. The box office is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Maureen Collins in St. Pat’s concert

YOUNGSTOWN

Maureen Collins, co-founder of Easy Street Productions, will present an hour long concert at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave.

The performance, which will features selections from Broadway to gospel, is part of the church’s Sauce and Song series. Admission is free but donations are welcome.

A spaghetti dinner will take place in the social hall from 11:30 a.m. 4 p.m. Sunday to benefit the services of the Dorothy Day House, 620 Belmont Ave. For information, call the parish office at 330-743-1109.
