Westminster alumnus earns an Emmy nod

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.

Westminster College graduate Troy Jackson has earned an Emmy nomination for “Ghost Witch – Mary Black,” a documentary on an alleged Lawrence County witch who died in 1888. According to legend, Black’s ghost continues to haunt a wooded area outside of New Castle, Pa.

The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences nominated Jackson’s documentary in the College/University Student Production – Short Form category for his piece produced for the Westminster Cable Network (WCN).

The winners will be announced Oct. 13.

‘Cards’ trailer has Wright in charge

NEW YORK

The trailer for the next season of “House of Cards” is missing Kevin Spacey and declares: “The reign of the middle-aged white man is over.”

The trailer depicts Robin Wright’s Claire Underwood taking over as president after her husband’s death in the Netflix series.

Spacey, who played the late President Frank Underwood, was fired from the show after several employees accused him of inappropriate behavior.

The sixth and final season of “House of Cards” will be available on the streaming service Nov. 2.
