Cincinnati 49, UConn 7

EAST HARTFORD, CONN.

Cincinnati quarterback Desmond Ridder kept the Bearcats undefeated, throwing for 270 yards and two touchdowns and running for another score in a rout of UConn. Michael Warren II rushed for 106 yards and touchdowns of 2 and 14 yards for the Bearcats. UConn had a chance to make it close at the end of the first half. Ridder hit Rashad Medaris for a 21-7 lead with 23 seconds left in the first half. Cincinnati then made it 28-7 just 33 seconds into the second half, when tight end Josiah Deguara (112 yards receiving) made a one-handed grab and jogged untouched into the end zone from 38-yards out and the rout was on.

Marist 28, Dayton 17

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.

Jacob Hallenbeck ran for two scores and threw for a third as Marist returned home to beat Dayton, snapping a string of three straight losses. Hallenbeck dashed in from five-yards out early in the second quarter to give the Red Foxes a 14-0 advantage only to watch as Dayton scored 17 straight points to take a 17-14 lead when Matt Tunnacliffe pulled in a 24-yard touchdown pass from Jack Cook with 3:40 left in the third quarter. Hallenbeck needed less than two minutes to put Marist back in front for good, scoring on a 24-yard run and added a 56-yard scoring pass to Juston Christian early in the fourth quarter. Hallenbeck completed 12 of 15 passes for 176 yards and ran for 38 yards on four carries. Cook finished 16 for 35 for 168 yards for Dayton.

Baldwin Wallace 45, Capital 17

Jake Hudson completed 16 of 28 passes for 239 yards with one touchdown and added 99 yards and a touchdown on the ground for Baldwin Wallce (4-1, 3-1 Ohio Athletic Conference). Jon Murray Jr. rushed for a career-high 149 yards on 16 carries with a career-best four touchdowns. Rob Wolfington led the receiving corps with five catches for 96 yards. Capital (0-4, 0-3 OAC) lost 12 straight games. Thomas Wibbeler completed 31 of 58 passes for 338 yards with two touchdowns for Capital.

John Carroll 44, Muskingum 7

NEW CONCORD

Sam Kukura and Michael Canganelli scored two touchdowns each for John Carroll. Kukura ran for 81 yards on 11 carries while Canganelli ran for 75 yards on 20 attempts. Devin Limerick also carried the ball 14 times for 81 yards for the Blue Streaks (3-1, 2-1 Ohio Athletic Conference). John Carroll quarterback Anthony Moeglin completed 13 of 18 passes for 159 yard and two touchdowns. Jordan Garrett completed a 26-yard touchdown to Granger Long with 27 seconds left in the game for Muskingum’s (2-3, 1-2 OAC) only score.

Wabash 48, Wooster 20

CRAWFORDSVILLE, IND.

Wabash’s Austin Hoover carried the ball 20 times for 92 yards and three touchdowns. Jake Reid completed 18 of 24 passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns for The Little Giants (4-0, 3-0 North Coast Athletic Conference). Mateo Renteria went 22 for 35 with 227 yards passing and three touchdowns for the Fighting Scots (2-3, 1-3 NCAC). Nick Strausbaugh caught seven passes for 114 yards and two scores. Chaney graduate Mark Herron recorded eight tackles.

Grove City 31, Carnegie Mellon 21

PITTSBURGH

Grove City Wesley Schools ran for 223 yards and a touchdown on 43 carries. He moved into second place in school history with 2885 career rushing yards and 632 career carries. Freshman quarterback Josh Ehst threw three touchdonws in his second college game. Ehst went 6 of 12 passing for 112 yards and ran the ball six times for 71 yards for the Wolverines (2-3, 1-3 Presidents’ Athletic Conference). Alex Cline threw for 228 yards and a touchdown on 21 of 35 passing for Carnegie Mellon (2-2, 1-2 PAC). Cline was intercepted twice.
