Chaney High School Class of 1956 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Davidson’s Restaurant in Cornersburg. Meals will be ordered from the menu. Spouses and friends are welcome. Class members will be celebrating their 80th birthdays.

HOV to host luncheon

Hospice of the Valley will host its annual Awesome Aussie Luncheon at the Outback Steakhouse, 7000 S. Tiffany Blvd., on Thursday. Seating times are 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. The public is invited.

The menu will feature a choice of center cut sirloin, grilled chicken, chicken caesar salad or grilled salmon. Salad, coffee and soft drinks are included. The luncheon, which will be served by print, radio and television personalities, will offer appetizers, raffles and trivia along with a cash bar. Donation is $25.

Proceeds will benefit Hospice of the Valley to continue its mission of serving the terminally ill and their families in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties since 1979.

Open house set at Ward-Thomas

The Niles Historical Society will host the monthly open house of the Ward-Thomas House at 503 Brown St. on Oct. 7 from 2 to 5 p.m. with the last tour beginning at 4. The membership meeting will be Oct. 6 at 10 a.m.

Plans for participating in the first annual Halloween Party and Pumpkin Walk at the McKinley Library on Oct. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. will be discussed. This is in conjunction with The Friends of the Library and the McKinley Memorial Museum.

Lamppost Farm will host fall festival

Lamppost Farm, a nonprofit organization dedicated to using agriculture to reach and teach others through education, hospitality, stewardship, discipleship and quality food, will showcase work by area artisans as part of Fall Festival 2018, a free outdoor event set for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at 14900 Market St.

The family-friendly event will feature area artisans showcasing their wares, sharing the tips of their trades and providing guests of all ages the opportunity try their hand at a skilled craft.

Artisans at this year’s event include Rivet Leatherworks, Shelby Black-Couch with Trades of Hope, Taylor Woodworking, Twisted Fleece Alpaca Farm, Weslie Detwiler/West Meadow Pottery. The event is open to all ages. The Farm Store will be open throughout the event so guests can shop for homemade apple butter and cider, as well as high-quality grass-fed/pastured meat and poultry products, Lamppost signature T-shirts and works by local artisans.
