Jennifer Backes and Daniel Pirigyi were united in marriage July 7 at St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Campbell during a ceremony solemnized by the Rev. Kevin Marks. A reception followed that evening at Avalon Inn and Resort in Warren.

The bride’s parents are Michael and Judith Backes of Hubbard. Victoria Pirigyi of Mineral Ridge and the late Michael Pirigyi are the parents of the groom.

The bride wore an ivory, beaded trumpet-style dress.

Melissa Backes, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor.

Tori Pirigyi, the groom’s niece, wearing a gold and navy dress, was the bridesmaid.

The best man was David Pirigyi, the groom’s brother.

Groomsmen were Nick Pirigyi, brother of the groom and Michael Backes, the bride’s brother. Brayden Sertich served as a reader.

Mrs. Pirigyi graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in education. She is a fifth-grade teacher with the Brookfield Local School District.

Mr. Pirigyi graduated from YSU with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing. He is a commercialization manager at Shearer’s Snacks corporate office in Massillon.

The couple honeymooned in Maui, Hawaii. They reside in Austintown.
