OCCHA to confer 14 scholarships

YOUNGSTOWN

The Hispanic American Civic and Cultural Organization Inc. will host its annual scholarship dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the OCCHA Social Hall, 3660 Shirley Road.

For more than 40 years, OCCHA has awarded scholarships to Hispanic/Latino high-school seniors.

This year, $8,000 in scholarships will be presented to the following 14 recipients:

Dominic Velazquez, Western Reserve High School, and Ariana Espinosa Coffie, Chanie High School, the OCCHA Changing Lives through Education Scholarship

Clemente Rodriquez, Youngstown Early College, and Maria DiLallo, Springfield High School, the Dr. Clara Becerra Memorial Scholarship

Mariola Marrero, Youngstown Early College, the Caraballo Family Scholarship

Michael Diaz, Poland Seminary High School, and Endy Monjaraz, Salem High School, the Latin American Motorcycle Association Scholarship

Analisa Echevarria, Campbell Memorial High School, the Hispanic Health Professionals Scholarship

Aimara Soto Rodriquez, Youngstown Early College, the OCCHA Inc. Scholarship

Perla Diaz, Lowellville High School, the Rafael & Marta Romero Memorial Scholarship

Antonio Cruz Hernandez, Valley Christian School, Spanish Evangelical Church Scholarship

Larissa Diaz, Lowellville High School, the Hispanic Teachers Scholarship

Santino Diaz Palma, Struthers High School, the Walter Henderson Reyes Memorial Scholarship

Marian Lopez, Valley Christian School, the Hispanic Heritage Festival Scholarship
