It’s the season premiere of this action drama about first-responders.

Visitors bureau photo contest

YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning County Convention & Visitors Bureau, in partnership with YM Camera in Boardman, is announcing a photo contest for images that capture the best of Youngstown and Mahoning County.

The contest is open to both amateur and professional photographers, with prizes being awarded to the winning entry in each of four categories: attractions, golf, wineries and outdoor recreation. Winners will receive a $50 YM Camera gift card, plus a T-shirt.

Photos must be entered online via the link found on Youngstown Live’s social media pages (@YoungstownLive), and may be used in the CVB’s 2019 Youngstown and Mahoning County Travel Guide, as well as future marketing materials. The contest ends Oct. 8.

Short film contest for high schools

YOUNGSTOWN

The sixth annual Friends4Friends Campaign Film Festival will take place Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Powers Auditorium, 260 W. Federal St.

The event, sponsored by OK Inc., will showcase short films created by teens from Bedford, Campbell Memorial, James A. Garfield and Western Reserve high schools.

The films can be viewed on OK Inc.’s YouTube Channel, OK, Inc. The film with the most “likes” by Thursday will win the top prize. The films address major issues facing youth today: drug abuse, gang affiliation, dating abuse and sextortion.

Thursday’s festival starts at 6:30 p.m., and admission is free. The public is welcome.
