Garden Forum announces flower show results

CANFIELD

The Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area Inc. hosted its annual Canfield Fair Flower Show during the fair. A total of 128 gardeners competed for the two days of the show, with 997 entries received the first day and 904 the second.

Best of Show winners for the first day were:

Hugh Earnhart, hanging basket

Frank Orzechowski, cacti candlelabrum

Joyce Habager, bear creek sunnrise dahlia

Chris Frankovic, Amish crested celosia

Cynthia Reed, mandevilla

Dianna Mullins, picotee begonia

Sheila Bowman, Green Thumb design.

Best of Show winners for the second day were:

Barbara Biery, elephant tusk annual

Dianna Mullins, Diana Remembered perennial hosta

Dave Habeger, dahlia Embrace

Joyce Habager, Green Thumb design.

Club door designs were entered by Hitchcock Woods Garden Club, Garden Gate Garden Club of Poland, St. Michael’s Garden Guild, Damascus Garden Club, and Holborn Herb Growers Guild.

A total of 1,193 votes were cast during the fair for the People’s Choice award, and Garden Gate Garden Club of Poland won.
