ITHACA, N.Y.

Heather Swift and Jeremy Morrison, both of Ithaca, N.Y., were united in marriage Aug. 11 during a ceremony at their home that was solemnized by the Rev. Richard Rose.

The bride’s parents are Judge Thomas A. Swift of Vienna and Charlene Bartholomew Kerze of Powell.

The groom is a son of the late John and Doreen Morrison.

Escorted by her stepfather, Allan Kerze, the bride wore an ivory, strapless gown of satin and tulle with a fitted bodice bejeweled with rhinestones and pearls and featuring a sweetheart neckline and chapel train. The ensemble was completed with a rhinestone tiara and veil adorned with pearls.

Scott Slater led the processional.

The attendants, in a variety of summer cocktail dresses, were Nancy Beth Gulker, maid of honor; Meredith Lawhead, daughter of the bride; Amanda Kerze, sister of the bride; and Jordyn Menture.

Alex Morrison, son of the groom, wearing the traditional Morrison clan kilt with Prince Charlie vest and jacket, the same as his father, held the responsibilities of best man and ring bearer.

Groomsmen were the bride’s son, Marine Lance Cpl. Emery Swift, wearing the traditional Irish heritage kilt; and the bride’s brother, Bryan Swift, who wore a black kilt. All of the men dressed with the traditional Celtic thistle and eternity knot sporran.

A second ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Nov. 10 at Church of England St. Dunstan’s, Monks Risborough, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom, where Mr. Morrison’s parents are laid to rest. A reception will follow at The Plough at Cadsden in Monks Risborough.

Honor attendant for that ceremony will be the groom’s sister, Louise Gannon, and bridesmaids will be Jane Martin, the groom’s cousin, and Jan Jones.

Best man will be Howard Jones, who also will escort the bride. Groomsman will be Pete Gannon, the groom’s brother-in-law.

The Rev. James Tomkins will officiate, and the bride will wear a traditional ivory gown of tulle, with silver lace appliqued with pearls and designed with a fitted trumpet skirt, sweep train and bejeweled portrait neckline.

The couple will then honeymoon in London, the English countryside, Wales and Paris.

A graduate of Bowling Green State University, Keuka College and Tompkins Community College, Mrs. Morrison is a registered nurse and is employed as a nurse breast cancer grant reviewer with the Department of Defense.

Mr. Morrison graduated from The Vale University School in Aylesbury and Oxford, U.K., and is CEO of Hampton Caught in Ithaca.
