The Canfield Dollar General is celebrating its five-year anniversary on Sept. 28, and store manager Sherri Lupole would like to thank the Canfield community for its support.

“I would like to thank Canfield for ingratiating us and welcoming us into the Canfield community and supporting all our charity collections and causes,” Lupole said.

According to Lupole, the store has supported Operation Blessing throughout the years with several collections and petting zoo fundraisers, along with other organizations.

“We’ve had food drives, a collection of non-food items and school supplies drives for Operation Blessing over the past five years and we appreciate the support for these causes we have received from the community. We have also held petting zoo fundraisers for Operation Blessing. The store has also donated money to the Canfield Police Department to buy candy for the children at Halloween and we have supported other community causes and organizations,” Lupole said.

The store will host a fifth anniversary celebration from1-3 p.m. on Sept. 28. The celebration is open to the public and cake will be served.

Sept. 28 is also Lupole’s last day at the Canfield store. She is transferring to the Apple Creek, Ohio, store.

“I have enjoyed my time here in Canfield and I’m sure the new store manager will continue to support the causes and organizations we have helped in the past five years,” Lupole said.
