THURSDAY

Christ Our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Church, 250 N. Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders will be taken from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell pirogi. Call in orders to 330-755-1316 from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday and beginning at 9 a.m. Friday. Choose potato, kraut or prune pirogi at $6 per dozen. Pickup will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, is selling potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Cost is $7 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

Woodworth Church of the Brethren, 30 E. Western Reserve Road, Poland, will host a creamed chicken and biscuits takeout only dinner from 2:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. FRIDAY

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. in the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. Cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. by calling 330-792-1005.

SATURDAY

Aut-Mori Grotto will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon at the Grotto Banquet Hall, 563 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. The menu includes pancakes, link sausage, eggs, potatoes, sausage gravy and biscuits, coffee and juice. Cost is $6 per adult and $3 for children under 12. This is a monthly event held on the fourth Saturday of each month, unless it falls on a holiday. For information about this event or Grotto charities, contact Pudge at 330-720-2660.

First Presbyterian Church of Girard, 890 Churchill Road, will host a benefit chicken barbecue from noon to 4 p.m. (or until sold out). Rudy and the Professionals will perform from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under and may be purchased at the door. Cultural Society of St. John the Baptist Church of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish will host a stuffed cabbage dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church hall, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell. Cost is $10 for adults amd $5 for children. Extra stuffed cabbage rolls can be purchased 6 for $12. Take-out orders available, containers provided. The event will include basket raffle tables, 50-50 raffles and a bake sale. Pre-sale tickets and extra orders are available from St. John’s Cultural Society members or call Mariann at 330-755-1979. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, will host a pork and sauerkraut dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Cost is $9.50 for adults and $5 for children and includes entree, dessert and coffee, tea or pop. The public is welcome, and takeouts will be available.

TAKING ORDERS

St. George Croatian Center, 3200 Vestal Road, Youngstown, is taking orders for chicken noodle and vegetable soups, chicken paprikash and stuffed cabbage. Cost is $6 per quart for soups; $8 per quart for paprikash; and $25 per dozen for stuffed cabbage. All orders must be made by Sept. 30 by calling Tim Komara at 330-519-9036. Pickup will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 6 at the center.

UPCOMING

Aut-Mori Grotto will host its 12th annual pigs in a blanket (cabbage rolls) dinner from noon to 4 p.m. or until sold out Oct. 7. The menu includes stuffed cabbage, mashed potatoes, homemade applesauce, bread and butter, dessert and hot or cold (non-alcoholic) beverages. Cost is $10 per adult and $5 for children under 12. Menu includes mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, coleslaw, applesauce, homemade desserts, bread, coffee, tea or punch. Cost is $10 for adults and $4 for children. Takeout available.

Youngstown Saxon Culture Group is sponsoring a sausage sale. Mild, hot and the group’s own Saxon flavor will be available. Cost is $3.50 per pound, available in 3-pound packages of links, or 5-pound packages of bulk. Pickup will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Saxon Club.
