“Guys and Dolls,” a semi-staged concert by Youngstown Symphony Orchestra. Auditions will be at Ford Family Recital Hall, 260 W. Federal St., Youngstown, from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 24. The performance will take place Feb. 16, 2019, at Powers Auditorium. Youngstown Symphony Orchestra music director Randall Craig Fleischer and Easy Street Productions are seeking actors and actresses 16 years and older for the semi-staged concert version of the Broadway musical. Prepare 32 bars of a song that best showcases vocal range and ability. An accompanist will be provided. It is strongly encouraged that all auditionees bring sheet music in the correct key for the accompanist. A cappella singing is permitted. Audition forms will be provided and can be filled out the night of the audition. Call backs and script readings for specific roles will be scheduled at a later date. “SNOOPY,” Hopewell Theatre, 702 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, auditions will be 2 p.m. Sept. 30 and 6 p.m. Oct. 1. Performances will be Dec. 7, 8, 14, 15 and 16. Rehearsals start Oct. 22. “SNOOPY” is a series of short scenes with music based on the Charles Schulz’s comic strip “Peanuts.” Parts available include Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Peppermint Patty, Sally and Woodstock (non-speaking part). Auditionees must be 16 or older. No parts have been pre-cast. Be prepared to read from the script, perform a short vocal selection of your choice and provide music for the accompanist. This show is fairly active, so performers must be able to step on and off blocks approximately 18 inches high.
