Garden Forum awards three scholarships

YOUNGSTOWN

The Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area recently awarded $1,000 scholarship to each of three area students in the horticultural programs.

Olivia Dotson is attending Kent State University and working toward a degree in horticulture with a concentration in landscape design. She is from Salem and has worked for Mill Creek MetroParks.

Christian Moore completed his education at Ohio State University Knowlton School of Architecture with a major in landscape architecture. He had internships in the western United States and Canada and has participated in programs in western Europe, the Netherlands and Germany. Moore also is from Salem and is pursuing a master’s degree.

Desiree Pinkerton is from East Liverpool and is a horticulture student at KSU and hopes to work for the National Parks as a conservationist. She has done seasonal work and gardening for Fellows Riverside Gardens and the Horticulture Grounds Maintenance at KSU.
