SATURDAY’S REGIONAL COLLEGE GAMES

Pittsburgh 24, Georgia Tech 19

PITTSBURGH

Qadree Ollison ran for 91 yards and two touchdowns and Pittsburgh’s defense kept Georgia Tech’s triple-option in check during a victory in the ACC opener for both teams. Ollison scored on runs of 31 and 8 yards for the Panthers (2-1, 1-0). Darrin Hall added a touchdown run for Pitt. Quarterback Kenny Pickett left briefly due with a left leg injury at the end of the first half but played the entire second half, completing 16 of 23 passes for a season-high 191 yards and an interception. TaQuon Marshall scored on a pair of short touchdown runs in the second half for the Yellow Jackets and finished with a team-high 103 yards rushing. Marshall ended up 6 of 15 for 66 yards and an interception.

Ohio Wesleyan 9, Wooster 7

DELAWARE

Gabe Philhower kicked a 27-yard field goal with 18 seconds left to put the Battling Bishops in front. Philhower also connected on attempts of 22 and 20 yards. Wooster quarterback Mateo Renteria found Jacob Lewis for a 15-yard pass in the second quarter. Renteria completed 18 of 24 passes for 162 yards. Antonio Bailey led the Fighting Scots (1-2, 0-2 NCAC) with 69 yards rushing on 22 carries. Jax Harville threw for 216 yards on 24 of 38 passing for the Battling Bishops (1-1, 1-0 NCAC). Chaney graduate Mark Herron led Wooster with nine tackles and a pass breakup.

Duquesne 31, Dayton 26

PITTSBURGH

Daniel Parr threw for 333 yards and three touchdowns, Nehari Crawford had 11 catches for 223 yards and two scores, and Duquesne made a late defensive stand to hold off Dayton. Parr completed 21 of 27 passes with one interception, including 12- and 80-yard TD strikes to Crawford, and a 5-yarder to Stew Allen for a 31-13 lead in the third quarter. A.J. Hines scored on a 2-yard run on the Dukes’ opening drive and Duquesne (2-1) led 24-13 at halftime. Cook, 17 of 28 for 229 yards passing, hit Trautman on an 8-yard TD pass, and Richie Warfield and Tucker Yinger (13 carries for 122 yards) each ran for scores for Dayton (1-1).

Westminster 31, Saint Vincent 14

LATROBE, PA.

Westminster (2-1, 2-0 PAC) led 24-0 with two minutes left in the third quarter. Saint Vincent (0-3, 0-2 PAC) scored all 14 points in the fourth quarter. Titan junior Paul Gonzalez returned a fumble 35 yards for a touchdown with in the first quarter. Travis Lauster intercepted a pass and the Titans orchestrated a 13-play, 79-yard drive that ate up seven minutes and was capped off with a 17-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Augustus Necastro to classmate Joey Joy at the 4:52 mark for Joy’s first career touchdown. Necastro, a Brookfield graduate, went 14 of 20 for 166 yards and a score.

Bethany 27, Grove City 7

BETHANY, W.VA.

Grove City turned over the ball six times, including two miscues that directly resulted in Bethany touchdowns. After falling behind 7-0 early, Grove City (1-1) tied the game at 7 with 12:18 remaining in the first quarter when junior running back Wesley Schools scored on a two-yard touchdown run. Will Gatling returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown to give Bethany a 14-7 lead three minutes later. Schools led Grove City with 52 rushing yards on 19 carries. Quarterback Randall Labrie completed 8 of 20 passes for 109 yards. Sophomore wide receiver Cody Gustafson grabbed five passes for 68 yards.
