Buddy Walk planned to benefit DSAV

NILES

Buddy Walk of the Valley will take place Sept. 23 at Eastwood Field in Niles.

To participate, interested parties can create their own team, join an already-formed team, ask to be placed on the DSAV home team, be a sponsor, host an activity sponsored by a business or club or attend as a spectator.

The event is Down Syndrome Association of the Valley’s main fundraiser, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2017 in the greater Mahoning Valley. More than 2,500 people attend this symbolic walk that raises money via pledges, sponsors and entrance fees. Dsav.org contains details and online registration.

New this year are invitations to area businesses and clubs to host family activities. Businesses and clubs may display pamphlets and brochures at their tables and are asked to host a family activity that is free of charge to attendees.

Those wishing to donate an item to the basket raffle may contact the DSAV office at 330-726-3728 or buddywalk@dsav.org.
