The Cardinal Mooney High School Minority Alumni Council recently awarded its inaugural scholarships to current students and 2018 graduates of CMHS.

The scholarships were awarded based on the application process, which includes a personal statement or essay, community service component and teacher recommendations.

The MAC awarded two laptop/book scholarships to graduating seniors to provide financial assistance in obtaining the necessary tools to excel at college. Winners were; Kenneth Bledsoe II, a business administration student at Hiram College who also will pursue a law degree, and Jordyn Rae Austin, a student at Bowling Green State University who is studying education with a goal of assisting children with disabilities.

The MAC also awarded two academic achievement scholarships to Mooney students. Two scholarships of $1,000 each were awarded to Alana Bowser, senior, and Santino Rodriguez, junior, academically exceptional students who have demonstrated a record of community service and intend to continue their education at Cardinal Mooney High School.
