The third annual Eye Ball of the Mahoning Valley will take place Oct. 13 at the DeYor Performing Arts Center, 260 W. Federal St. The event will be hosted by Sight for All United and Women for Sight with Susan Berny and Joyce Cene as chairwomen.

The black-tie event will begin at 5 p.m. with wine and hors d’oeuvres and will be followed by a performance by Diane Schuur, jazz vocalist. There will be live and silent auctions and presentation of the annual Eagle Vision Award as well as music and dancing to John Reese and Backbeat.

Schuur has been blind from birth due to retinopathy of prematurity and has won two Grammy Awards, one for Best Jazz Vocal Performance on Timeless and one for Diane Schuur and The Count Basie Orchestra. Schuur received three additional Grammy nominations.

Sight for all United, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was created locally by Dr. Sergul Erzurum and Karen Segesto. Dr. Erzurum is a professor of surgery at Northeast Ohio Medical University, and Segesto is the senior client adviser and vice president of PNC Wealth Management. Women for Sight is a local fundraising organization whose mission is to aid individuals in the Mahoning Valley with their vision needs. Sight for All United is locally driven, locally used and locally managed to ensure that all funds raised stay within the Mahoning Valley.

New this year, the event has OneCause for mobile bidding, SmartPay registration and checkout. One-Cause will give attendees the ability to bid on auction items anywhere, anytime during the event, see all item information and current bid status and use instant checkout while participating in the event.

Sponsorships are available as well as ads for the event program. Tickets are $150 per person or $100 for Schuur’s performance and wine and hors d’eouvres hour.
