Allegheny 27, Wooster 0

WOOSTER

Wooster tied the game at 20 with 3:26 remaining, but Allegheny quarterback Logan Lee pass completed a 30-yard touchdown pass to Ben Bachik for the go-ahead score. Allegheny jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the second quarter before Wooster quarterback Caden Croft completed a 59-yard pass to Nick Strausbaugh. Croft completed 21 of 34 passes for 376 yards and an interception. Antonio Bailey ran for 114 yards on 20 carries for the Fighting Scots (1-1). Strausbaugh caught seven passes for 179 yards. Freshman Mark Herron, a Chaney graduate, lead Wooster defensively with seven tackles and a forced fumble.

Baldwin Wallace 33, Otterbein 3

BEREA

Senior quarterback Jake Hudson completed 24 of 31 passes for 282 yards with two touchdowns for Baldwin Wallace for Baldwin Wallace (2-0, 1-0 OAC). Hudson also led the ground attack with 29 yards on 17 carries. Senior wide receiver Chad Steinwachs led the receiving corps with seven catches for 82 yards with one touchdown. The Cardinal (1-1, 0-1 OAC) offensive attack was led by senior quarterback Steven Irwin completed six of 17 passes for 81 yards but was sacked four times. Dakota Smith led the rushing attack with 42 yards on nine carries.

Malone 42, Lake Erie 12

CANTON

Malone scored 22 unanswered points in the second half to pull away. Deandre Clayton completed 11 of 20 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns for Malone (1-1, 1-0). Aston Dulin and Markell Stephen both ran for over 90 yards. Dulin finished with 99 yards rushing and two touchdowns while Stephen ran for 93 yards and a score. Javarian Smith connected completed 19 of 31 passes for 187 yards and a TD for Lake Erie (0-2, 0-1).

Westminster 27, Waynesburg 12

WAYNESBURG, PA.

Waynesburg lead 3-0 before Westminster scored 20 unanswered points. Westminster quarterback Augustus Necastro, a Brookfield graduate, completed 15 of 20 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns. Bryce Hill led the Titans (1-1, 1-0) in rushing, finishing with 32 yards and a touchdown on five carries. East graduate John Fitzgerald recorded five tackles for the Titans. Westminster freshman Tyree Reeder, an Ursuline graduate, recorded two tackles. Poland graduate Tyler Smith led Waynesburg (0-2, 0-1) with 10 tackles.

Duquesne 23, Valparaiso 21.

PITTSBURGH

A.J. Hines rushed for 137 yards and his third touchdown, with 2:42 to play, gave Duquesne a victory over Valparaiso. Hines’ 1-yard touchdown run capped an 11-play, 74-yard drive that chewed up four minutes late in the fourth quarter. Valparaiso picked up one first down before Daquan Worley and Mike O’Malley had sacks followed by two incompletions that sealed the win. Hines, who had a career-high 31 carries, also had scoring runs of 4 and 2 yards. Parr finished 17 for 25 for 235 yards with an interception. The Dukes (2-1) had 413 yards of total offense. Chris Duncan was 15 of 26 for 229 yards and a touchdown for the Crusaders (0-1) and Kyle Cartales had a pair of 1-yard TD runs.

Washington & Jefferson 55, Thiel 0

WASHINGTON, PA.

Washington & Jefferson ran out to a 21-point lead in the first quarter and went into the half leading 34-0. Grant Milne, Dalton DuBrosky, and Dusty Maines all collected double-digit tackles for Thiel (0-2, 0-1). Quarterback Marko Bakovic completed 13 of 30 passing attempts for 144 yards. Keyandre Hood caught a team-high four receptions for 33 yards.

Bethany 27, Grove City 7

BETHANY, W.VA.

Grove City turned over the ball six times, Bethany scored 14 points off turnovers. After falling behind 7-0 early, Grove City (1-1) forged a 7-7 tie with 12:18 remaining in the first quarter when junior running back Wesley Schools scored on a two-yard touchdown run. Junior kicker Mitch Causer added the tying extra point. Bethany took a 14-7 lead at the 9:49 mark of the first quarter when Will Gatling returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown. Schools led Grove City with 52 rushing yards on 19 carries. Junior quarterback Randall Labrie completed 8 of 20 passes for 109 yards. Raekwon Wright led Bethany with 127 rushing yards on 23 carries.
