Hubbard

The Hubbard Conservation Club, 1760 Wick Campbell Road, will have a simulated squirrel hunt and small-game clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and 7 a.m. to noon Sunday.

The free clinic will teach or improve participants’ small-game hunting skills. All materials and snacks will be provided.

Lord of the Range

Salem

The Salem Hunting Club, 549 N. Indiana Ave., will have its Lord of the Range marksmanship competition at 9 a.m. today.

The club will supply guns, ammunition and lunch. Participants must bring eye and ear protection.

Prizes include custom designed trophies and cash for first and second place. Third place wins a trophy.

The event is open to the public. Cost is $35. Preregistration is required, and the event is limited to the first 50 who sign up.

CCW/CHL class

Niles

Western Reserve Fish & Game Association, 1058 W. Third St., will have a CCW/CHL class from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The cost is $70. Preregistration and a $20 deposit are required. Class size is limited.

Refreshments, doughnuts, lunch, guns, ammunition, safety gear and classroom supplies will be provided.

NRA Youth Sportsfest

Vienna

The Trumbull County 4-H Shooting Sports Pioneers Club will host a free NRA Youth Sportsfest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Fish & Game Club of Vienna, 1508 Youngstown Kingsville Road.

The event will teach basic gun and archery safety, demystify firearms by providing hands-on experience and provide an enjoyable learning experience to all youths age 9 to 18.

Participants will have the opportunity to safely shoot a .22 rifle, .22 pistol, shotgun, muzzleloading rifle and archery equipment with adult supervision. No guns owned by participants are to be brought to the event.

Youths and their parents will receive a gun-safety lesson taught by a certified instructor before the shooting events. A picnic lunch will be provided. The Vienna Township Fire emergency squad exhibit will be at the event.

The Eastern Ohio Conservation Club, 10366 W. Calla Road, is sponsoring a free ODNR Division of Wildlife hunter education course from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 22 and 23.

CCW class

New Middletown

The New Middletown Farmers & Sportsman’s Club, 3341 E. Calla Road, will have a one-day CCW class at 8 a.m. Sept. 29.

Cost is $90 and includes books, targets, coffee, muffin, hot dog, water and coffee. A $20 nonrefundable deposit is required to hold a spot in the class.

Fall turkey shoots

Lowellville

The Lowellville Rod and Gun Club, 6225 Quarry Road, will have fall turkey shoots through Nov. 20.

Sign-ups are at 6 p.m., and shoots are at 7. Shells are provided at $2 per shell. There will be a novelty .410 shoot (guns will be available to use).
