Neros celebrate 50th anniversary at dinner party

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Nero of Poland recently celebrated their 50th anniversary with dinner at Michael Alberini’s, surrounded by family and friends.

The couple’s children are Maria (Darren) Hayes of Poland and Paul Nero of Marina del Rey, Calif. Two grandchildren complete the family.

Mr. Nero married the former Theresa Pepe on Aug. 10, 1968, at Immaculate Conception Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Nero was a kindergarten teacher at Byzantine Catholic Central until she retired in 2009. She also is a member of St. Luke Altar Rosary Society and bocce league.

Mr. Nero was a driver and salesman for Schwebel’s Baking Co. and retired in 2002. He also is an usher at St. Luke and a member of Holy Name Society’s bocce league.

The couple are members of St. Luke Catholic Church.
