Food sales and dinners through Sept. 12

TODAY
Holy Family Church, 2729 Center Road, Poland, will host its takeout only pasta dinner from 2:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Menu includes cavatelli with homemade sauce, meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter and cookies for $10. Smaller portion of cavatelli and one meatball, $5; homemade pasta fagioli, $6/quart; and fresh or frozen homemade sauce, $5/quart. Place your order, remain in your car and your dinner will be delivered to you.
THURSDAY
Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will have takeout dinners available from 3:30 p.m. until sold out. Cost is $7. No need to pre-order or get out of the car. Just drive to the front of the church, and your meal of baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans will be ready.
St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will begin pirogi sales Friday. Call in orders to 330-755-1316 from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday and beginning at 9 a.m. Friday. Choose potato, kraut or prune pirogi at $6 per dozen. Pickup will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday.
St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, is selling potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $7 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.
Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will offer Swiss steak dinners from 4 p.m. until sold out. Dine in or drive through. Menu includes Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, applesauce, roll and cupcake. Cost is $10.
FRIDAY
Canfield Lions will host a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St. Meals include a choice of baked or fried fish, french fries, macaroni and cheese, pirogi or haluski and coleslaw, green beans, roll, dessert and beverage. Cost is $12 and will be takeout or dine-in.
Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. Cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. by calling 330-792-1005.
SATURDAY
St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4453 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, will host its Second Saturday Supper from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Takeouts are available. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under age 12. Menu includes homemade stuffed cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, vegetables, dinner roll, dessert and a beverage.
SUNDAY
St. James the Apostle Church, 4019 U.S. state Route 422, Pulaski, Pa., will host John’s Breakfast Brunch from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Breakfast includes french toast, sweet cheese filling, buttermilk and buckwheat pancakes with choice of maple or blueberry syrup, scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs with peppers, onions and cheese, bacon, sausage, ham, home fries, toast, fresh cinnamon rolls, hot and cold cereals, coffee, tea, juices and milk. Cost is $9 for adults and $4 for children.
TAKING ORDERS
First Presbyterian Church of Girard, 890 Churchill Road, is taking orders for potato and chicken noodle soups, homemade pepperoni rolls, fresh baked bread and homemade sticky buns Sept. 15. Cost for soup is $5 per quart and $3 a pint. Cost for pepperoni rolls is $8 for large and $2.50 for a single. Bread is $2 for a large loaf and $1.50 for a small loaf. Orders must be placed no later than 7 p.m. Sept. 12 by calling 330-759-1460. Pickup will take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 15.
UPCOMING
Heritage Presbyterian Church, 1951 Mathews Road, Poland, will host a pasta dinner fundraiser from 2 to 6 p.m. Sept. 15. Cost is $10 per person and children age 5 and under are free. Proceeds benefit Brittany Shannon, who had tumor removed and requires extensive reconstructive surgery. For information, call the church at 330-707-9031.
Protestant Family Services will sponsor a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 16 at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman. Donations of $8 for adults and $5 for children 6 to 12 will be accepted. Carryout also will be available. Reservations may be made by calling 330-746-4600. Proceeds benefit the PFS.
St. George Croatian Center, 3200 Vestal Road, Youngstown, will host a steak fry from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 15. Menu includes entree and sides at $18 per dinner. Eat-in or takeout is available.
